Need to vent!
OK apparently I'm huge! One of my stupid rude patients came in yesterday and she was like "oh are you expecting?" and I of course said "yep". She then went on and on about how big I am for 4 months along and how she didn't think it was normal to be showing that much this early and she just kept saying it over and over. I was seriously pissed. Finally I just snapped and said "well this is the 4th time I've been pregnant so I'm showing a lot faster than a first timer!" Why do people think it's OK to insult a pregnant woman? If anything you should tread a lot more lightly around someone with raging hormones and an expanding waistline! OK vent over. THANKS!

ReplyDeletepeople say such dumb things to pregnant women, though. i've already been told that i look as though i'm expecting twins (and i know i don't look like that, so i can't even take that comment seriously).
i've already been told a few times that i'll be a bad mother, too. and people make judgmental comments (and even grimace at me) when i respond to their questions about my birth plan (apparently midwives are NOT SAFE...) and my lack of a nursery (apparently i "don't love" my child enough).
ah, some people can be idiots!!

Idiot woman! I thought you looked great in your photo. I've seen people looking bigger at 12 weeks. I've been looking big since about 17 weeks (if I'm not totally sucking my gut in).
ReplyDeleteHeck, next time, tell her to check out photos of Jenna Elfman on the internet. She's supposedly due end of March/early April, and she's way bigger than either of us. WAY WAY bigger. Seriously, she looks 6 months pregnant at least to me.
Ignore the moron, and just be happy that your baby's growing strongly and well enough to start giving you a little tummy. It's cute!

ReplyDeleteoh Kristy - I think you look great! People asked me all the time if I was having twins! Even now they comment on how big I look, and honestly, I don't think I'm that big for as far along as I am!!! (not compared to some people anyway!)
