More wasted time.

So we finally met with the geneticist today and she was very nice. She basically said there is no way that DH's missing part of chromosome has anything to do with our losses. So while that is good news it's frustrating that we had to wait a month for her to tell us that!
I almost killed the genetic nurse. She pretty much spouted off every single tacky cliche that you should never say to a couple with IF and RPL. Let me list them for you:

"Maybe your miscarriages were just bad luck"---Clearly not the case moron!
"At least you can get pregnant"------It doesn't help if you can't stay that way for 9 months!
"The good thing is you're young"--------yeah I was 27 when we started now I'm approaching 30
"You might get pregnant when your not even trying"------No we won't. We need fertility drugs
"Have you been taking a folic acid supplement?"-------only for the last 3 years you stupid bitch!
"Just keep trying and you'll be chasing a little one around in no time"--not everyone gets to have kids no matter how hard they keep trying.

My face must have really started to show my feelings because DH started ushering me out of the room quickly when she was going on and on. Please don't talk to me like I'm an idiot. I'm more educated on infertility and miscarriage than most doctors!

So after the appointment DH took me for breakfast and then we went and had a nap because we were up late last night at the surprise party and we both drank a fair bit. The good news is that only 2 preggo's showed up and one of them was my good friend and the other was my SIL so it was not too bad. I did however drink quite a bit.

So now more waiting until the 29th when my RE is back from holidays and hopefully we start injectables IUI ASAP!

  1. Oh, you're not going to wait until November? I hope that's the case, so you don't have to wait anymore. It sucks that you didn't get a real answer on anything. ('Sucks' is an understatement, obviously.)

Sorry for the crappy appointment. Especially for the nurse's dumb comments. You'd think that someone in her position would know enough not to say things like that.

  2. No, I've decided to do at least one cycle out of pocket then if that doesn't work I'll wait for the benefits to kick in. I just don't want to waste anymore time.
